Hazel I. Brunner, 92, township of Hutchins, Shawano County, went to be with her beloved Savior on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at her home.
She was born on March 1, 1921 near Wild Rose, WI. The daughter of the late Paul and Lillian (Holdren) Smith.
On February 19, 1949, Hazel was united in marriage to John F. Wilson in Downey, IL. They lived in Oshkosh until 1955 until moving to a farm in the Town of Dupont. In 1959, the couple moved to a farm in the Town of Grant, Shawano County, and then in 1985, they moved to Clintonville. John passed away in 1989. In 2000, Hazel married Forest Brooks and lived near Bowler until his death in 2008. Later she married Pastor Richard Brunner and lived near Birnamwood until the time of her death.
Hazel was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clintonville. She loved Jesus and for several years had Vacation Bible School on their farm. Hazel always said, “You've got to love and forgive like Jesus did.”
Survivors include her husband, Pastor Richard Brunner, Birnamwood; one daughter, Nancy (David) Krause, Oklahoma; one son, William Wilson, Cadott; five grandchildren, David Wilson, Clintonville, Michelle (Randall) Nemmetz, Manawa, Jo Blaubach (Charles), Clintonville, Laura (Thomas) Mueller, Bonduel and Diana Carley, Bowler and two great-grandsons, Michael and Scott Nemmetz.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Hazel was preceded in death by three sisters, Eleanor Petrie, Leona Jorgenson and Gertrude Smith and three brothers, Harold, Everett and George Smith.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Monday, September 9, 2013 at the Mattoon Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Daniel Casper and Rev. Mark Quinn will officiate. Entombment will be in Danish Cemetery, Town of Union, Waupaca County. Visitation will be on Monday from 9am until the time of services at the church.
