Funeral Home: Schmidt & Schulta
Catherine (Cathy) Janet Timm, age 75 died peacefully on August 27th, 2013, at her home in Shepley, Wisconsin, after a courageous two year battle with lung cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 28th, 1937 in Elderon to the late Chester and Jenny (Berglund) Bricko.
In her teen years she attended Wittenberg High School.
On September 29th, 1956, she married Gary Howard Timm in Birnamwood. For 30 years the couple lived in Neenah, where Cathy dearly loved living.
Cathy had many friends and neighbors that she grew very close to and visiting with them was an almost daily occurrence. Friendships were very dear to Cathy and she was always there for a friend in need.
Cathy loved singing and at family reunions her brothers and sisters would gather round and “serenade” the rest of the group. She was also a member of the “Sweet Adelines Choir” in Neenah for many years.
She enjoyed her weekly bowling night with a group of close friends. She was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan and loved watching her grand-children play baseball as well. She also loved to travel with Dad, especially to tropical climates where she loved the warmth and “any flower” that was blooming.
Cathy was a dedicated mother and homemaker to six boys and one girl. Children were always an important part of her life and she was known as “Mom” to many of her children’s friends. After the first set of kids were gone, she baby-sat her grandchildren in her home and continued taking care of her great-grandchildren as well. Mom’s house was never an “empty nest.”
Cathy’s faith in God never wavered and she loved going to church. She was a long time member of St. Gabriel’s Parish in Neenah and the last 15 years a dedicated member at Holy Family Parish in Wittenberg. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by six sons, David (Kim) Timm, Wittenberg, Mark (Bonnie) Timm, Appleton, Dennis Timm, Shepley, Richard Timm, Oshkosh, Gary (Diane) Timm “Jr.” Greenville and Jay Timm, Shepley; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is further survived by one sister, Annette (Toke) Klabunde, Mosinee and two brothers, Duane ( Patti) Bricko, Wausau and Lyle (Barb) Bricko, Wausau; one sister-in-law Joyce Schmidt, Wittenberg and one son-in-law Kevin (April) Maas, Tigerton. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and relatives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Gary, her daughter Laurie (Timm) Maas; and three brothers and two sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Holy Family-St. William Catholic Church, Wittenberg. Fr. Patrick Lloyd will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Cemetery, Birnamwood. Visitation will be on Friday from 8:30AM until 10:45AM at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. A family member will read a eulogy at 10:30AM on Friday at the funeral home.
