Joseph G. Fochs Sr., 83, passed away on May 11, 2013 at Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau with family by his side. He was born December 20, 1929 in Milwaukee. Joe was the son of Rose (Fochs) and Emmanuel Yessa.

Joe married Muriel "Teri" (O'Malley) on June 10, 1950. Muriel passed away in 1979. Joe later married Debra (Schlueter) on May 20, 1981. They were happily married for 31 years.

Joe was an entrepreneur having owned numerous businesses including Yellow Cab (Wausau), Bay City Cab (Green Bay), Checker Cab (Wausau), Portage Taxi (Portage). He most recently owned The Alibi Bar, Statewide Furniture, and multiple investment properties.

Joe is survived by his wife, Debra (Schlueter) Wausau; son, Joseph (Rose) Fochs Jr., Appleton; daughters, Susan Martell, Wausau, Linda (Bob) Berna, Wausau and Rhinelander, Teri (Wally) Kaminski, Weston and Anna (Erik) Alanko, Wausau; grandchildren Joe " JJ " Martell, Tammy Winter, Brianna and Aubrey Fochs, Chelsey (Chuck) Heiser, Samantha Borneman, Hannah and Wyatt Kaminski; great-grandchildren, Kaila Martin, Zachary, Natalie, and Jace Nimz, Arianna Kibler-Martell, Walker and Aurora Martell; great-great-grandchildren, Preston Nimz and Derrek Chack;

brother, Emmanuel "Jr" (Marlyne) Yesse; and sisters, Rose (Dave) Seidler, Virginia "Ginny" Pagel and Dorothy (Jerry) Kittel, all of Wausau.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Muriel, son Douglas and daughter Julie Ann, brother Donald Yessa, sister Mabel Bowden, sons-in-law Jason Borneman and Joseph Martell Sr, grandchild Brandon Fochs and great grandchild Spencer Martell.

Joe will always be remembered by his animated stories from his life experiences, casino trips, and his quirky business adventures. Joe will be greatly missed by his family and many good friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 6205 Alderson St., Weston. Rev. Lance Hoelscher will officiate. Private entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Brainard Funeral Home Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston and again from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday at the church.
