Funeral Home: Brainard
Carol Stroik, 67, of Hatley, took the Lord’s hand and passed into eternal life on March 3, 2013, after a courageous battle of cancer, with her family by her side. She was born on December 15, 1945 to the late Eric and Dorothy (Zimmerman) Jaeck, in Wausau.
Carol was united in marriage to Richard Stroik at St. Agnes Church, Weston, on March 1, 1969. Carol was definitely an inspiration to others lighting up the room with her entrance and her jittery dance. She touched the lives of many she knew and even people she didn’t, welcoming them into her life.
Carol enjoyed golfing, traveling on family vacations, going to car shows and parades with her husband Richard and most of all spending time visiting with family and friends. She was an avid reader of many types of books. Her passion of life itself was to be happy and that, she always was!
Carol worked for Wausau Insurance for over 35 years. She was a faithful member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Weston. She was an organist for many years at both Mount Olive and previously at Grace Lutheran Church in Ringle.
She is survived by her husband Richard; their two loving children, Greg (Diana) Stroik; Amy (Chris) Otto; two wonderful grandchildren, Andrew and Kaitlyn Stroik; her siblings, Ruth (Don) Draeger, St. Germain, Dale (Andrea) Jaeck, Wausau, Robert (Darlene) Jaeck, Schofield and Randy Jaeck, Weston; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church 6205 Alderson Street, Weston. Pastor Ray Connor will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church. Brainard Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
A very special thank you to all the doctors and nurses at UW Cancer Center of Wausau and the home hospice nurses for becoming our extended family through their kind words and warm support they showed us.
