Susan “Suzi” Kittson, age 57 of Wausau, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Mount View Care Center under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, Wausau, following a four year battle with MSA.
She was born on January 28, 1956 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Glen and Patricia (Wehe) Graper. On June 23, 1984 she married Terry Kittson in Ashippun, WI.
Suzi attended the UW Eau Claire where she earned her Master’s Degree in speech disorders. She began working for the Owen/Withee School District as their speech clinician, and later worked for Marathon County Special Education in Athens. Suzi also worked for a time at the Rib Mountain Preschool. She enjoyed photography, stamping, playing guitar, and researching on the computer. She was an animal lover and had many pets throughout her life. Most of all, she enjoyed working with children, especially raising her son, Aaron. She was an active member of Saint Andrew Lutheran Church in Rib Mountain.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Kittson, Brookfield; her son, Aaron Kittson, Brookfield; her sister, Judi (Raymond) Adler, Lomira, WI; nephew, Jesse Adler; her step-father, Mike Maier, Delafield, WI; mother-in-law, Audrey Kittson, Brookfield; brother-in-law, Craig (Sally) Kittson, and their two children Paul and Sarah; and her beloved dog, Chelsea.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law, Norman Kittson.
Memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church, 3200 N. Mountain Rd., Wausau. Rev. Craig Swenson will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Saint Andrew Lutheran Church, or to the family for a donation to the Multi System Atrophy Association, a debilitating disease that took so much of her body……but not her spirit.
