Carol S. Hackbarth, age 70 of Rothschild, went to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, February 14, 2013.
Carol was born on December 19, 1942 to the late Harry and Elenora (Haufschildt) Nienow in Wausau. She married William A. Hackbarth on November 11, 1961 in the Town of Maine. He preceded her in death on October 1, 2012.
Carol was an active member of the Wausau Alliance Church. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, playing cards and camping in Eagle River. Some of her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren sharing family traditions.
She is survived by her children, Cynthia (Thomas) Woods, Appleton; Mark (Donna) Hackbarth, Wausau; Daniel (Kim) Hackbarth, Wausau; Lisa (Don) Schultz, Elk River, MN and Tina (Paul) Hiles, Marshfield; brother, Thomas (Marge) Nienow; sisters, Delores Wald, Patricia Schrieber, Joan Schrieber and Virginia (Earl) Lang; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 11 step-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was further preceded in death by her brother, Harry Nienow, Jr. and two sisters, Darlene Asmundsen and Marion Czaplinski.
Memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Wausau Alliance Church, 2125 Franklin Street, Wausau. Rev. Lou Rossetti will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.
