Gary L. Wenzel, age 67 of Kronenwetter, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at home.



Gary was born in Wausau on September 26, 1945 to Arden and Florence (Baumann) Wenzel. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam.



Gary married Lois A. Schilling. She preceded him in death in 1983. He married Cynthia Pierce on June 5, 1990 in Yemassee, South Carolina.



Gary loved camping in his younger years and motorcycle rides and motorcycle trips. He was employed as a truck driver with Conway Transport in Plover and loved driving his semi. He was also a “Master Squirrel Whisperer” and an avid bird watcher. Gary and Cynthia enjoyed bowling and square dancing.


Gary is survived by his wife Cynthia Wenzel of Kronenwetter; sons Chris (Sarah McLaughlin) Wenzel of Superior and Shawn (Brenda) Wenzel of Janseville; stepson Jeffrey (Anne) Kibler of Apple Valley, MN; grandchildren Arianna, Cody, Coral, Sydney, Avery, McKenna, and Cayleigh; mother Florence Wenzel of Wausau; brothers Gene (Alice) Wenzel of Ringle and Warren (Mary) Wenzel of Wausau; and several nieces and nephews.



He is preceded in death by his father Arden Wenzel and his first wife Lois Wenzel.



Memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Brainard Funeral Home-Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday.
