Beverly J. Eckes, 78, Wausau died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at Aspirus Hospice House. Beverly was born Oct. 7, 1934 to the late Howard and Ruth (Lowe) Cendt in Colby. She married Roger Eckes on June 11, 1955 in Colby. He preceded her in death on July 27, 1970. Beverly enjoyed spending time on Long Lake with her husband. She was a longtime and active member of First Presbyterian Church. Beverly cherished time spent with her nieces and nephews. Survivors include many nieces and nephews, friends and special neighbors. She was also preceded in death by her brother Malcolm Cendt. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church, 406 Grant St. Wausau. Rev. Joy Nelson Jeffers will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams St., Wausau and again from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Thursday.
