Ruth E. Milanowski, 100, Wittenberg, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Homme Home of Wittenberg. She was born on June 20, 1912 in Tigerton, the son of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Jolin) Salzman. Ruth worked in the kitchen at the Homme Home of Wittenberg for over 11 years and was a long-time volunteer at the Senior Center. She enjoyed needlework, crocheting, playing cards and spending time with her family. Survivors include eight children, Mary Jane Nankervis, L’Anse, MI, David Pike, Marion, Geraldine Filipiak, Weston, Lawrence (Janice) Pike, Wausau, Arlin (Mona) Pike, Clintonville, Carolyn Thiel, Appleton, Karen (Lee) Sickler, Wittenberg and Roberta (Dave) Heindl, Phillips/ Phoenix; 37 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great grandchildren and three sisters, Florence Redman, Tigerton, Loretta Salzman, Tigerton and Baeda Ashenbrenner, Shawano. Ruth is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by three husbands, Myron Pike, Robert Laars and Daniel Milanowski; three children, Lyle, Donna Mae and Leo; one great-granddaughter; one great-great-granddaughter; three sisters, Lenora in infancy, Myrtle Menge and Ethel Ashenbrenner and four brothers, Marvin, Clarence, Floyd and Merlin Salzman. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Holy Family – St. William Catholic Church, Wittenberg. Fr. Patrick Lloyd will officiate. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Tigerton. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2pm until 5pm and on Monday from 10am until 10:45am all at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg.
