Arlene M. Merriam, 59, Township of Easton, Marathon County, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born on June 27, 1953 in Colorado, the daughter of Orville and Adeline (Wethern) Jacobi, Township of Easton. On October 27, 1973, Arlene was united in marriage to Leslie Merriam at St. John's Lutheran Church, Township of Easton.
Arlene worked at the Log Cabin for many years, as well as Schofield Enterprises and Little Lambs Daycare until retirement. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Township of Easton, where she formerly taught Sunday School. Arlene enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting, but especially enjoyed the time spent with her family.
In addition to her husband, Leslie and her parents, Orville and Adeline Jacobi, survivors include three sons, Danny Merriam, Town of Easton, Dale (Shannon) Merriam, Wausau and David (Cindy) Merriam, Town of Hewitt; one grandson, Gavin; four step-grandchildren, Kyle, Kelvin, Kurtis and Kevin; one step-great grandchild, Karlee; siblings, Larry Jacobi, Schofield, Donna (Mark) Stolze, Wausau, Brian (Sherrie) Jacobi, Ringle, LeeRoy (Friend Jean) Jacobi, Wausau and Lisa (Renee) Neiter, Birnamwood and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Arlene was preceded in death by a grandson, Zachary, a brother Lyle, mother and father-in-law, Grace and Daniel Merriam and a brother-in-law, Donald Van Vleet.
The funeral service will be held at 11AM on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church, Star Rd., Easton. The Rev. David Faulkner will officiate. Interment will be in Forestville Cemetery, Town of Easton. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4PM to 7PM at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood and again on Monday from 10AM until the time of service at the church.
