Conrad F. Blarek, 85, Hatley, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Homme Home of Wittenberg.
He was born on January 24, 1927 in Polonia, the son of the late Walter and Helen (Soik) Blarek.
On September 11, 1954, Conrad was united in marriage to Theresa Grzywacz at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Wausau. She survives.
Conrad and Theresa farmed in the town of Bevent for many years. He then worked for the former Crestline Windows in Mosinee for over 20 years. Conrad enjoyed gardening, listening to polka music and watching baseball and the Green Bay Packers, but he especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Blarek, Hatley, three sons; Joseph Blarek, Hatley, Randolph Blarek, Wausau and Myron Blarek, Hatley, seven daughters; Mary (Allen) Shidell, Wausau, Maxine (Alan) VanderKooy, Eland, Carol (Wally) Fredrick, Wausau, Katherine (Dave) Walters, Wisconsin Rapids, Jennette (Anthony) Sherfinski, Schofield, Darlene (Mike) Kristof, Hatley and Sherry (Steve) Uttecht, Wittenberg, 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Conrad was preceded in death by his siblings and one great-grandson.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Friday, January 4, 2013 at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. Rev. Augustine Bentil will officiate. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 9am until the time of services at the church. Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg is assisting the family with arrangements.
