Margaret E. Korbisch, 81, town of Aniwa, Shawano County, died Saturday, December 22, 2012, surrounded by her family at her home. She was under the care of LeRoyer Hospice, Antigo. She was born April 9, 1931 in Mattoon, the daughter of the late Alfred and Ruth (Feigley) Resch. On December 1, 1951, she was united in marriage to Frank Korbisch at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mattoon. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1994. The couple owned and operated a dairy farm and a Christmas tree farm in the town of Aniwa for many years. Margaret was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Aniwa and was a member of the St. Monica's Society. She was also a member of a local card club. She enjoyed playing cribbage and was the 'Scrabble champion'. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Margaret was known as 'prayer central'. Whenever someone was in need of a prayer Margaret was the one to call. Survivors include her children, Joan (Jim) Karpf, Matt (Sally) Korbisch, Rose (Tom) Egging, Grace (Edwin) Mroczenski, Mark (Doreen) Korbisch, Meg Korbisch, Francis (Diane) Korbisch, Mary (Jeff) Below, Ruthie (Norman) Safford and Luke (Renee) Korbisch; 23 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren and one great great grandchild; siblings, June Hutchins, Sister Ruth Resch, Joan Resch and Karen Trembath; siblings-in-law, Marge Resch, Katherine Resch, Alice Lex, Rosella Toney, Gretchen Resch, William Duchac, William Korbisch and Charles Korbisch and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Abby Korbisch; son-in-law, Aaron Cummings and siblings, Victor Resch, Florence Vorass, Stella Duchac, Rosemary Koeppel, Wilfred Resch, Delbert Resch, Edward Resch and Cornelious Resch.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am, Thursday, December 27, 2012 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Aniwa. Fr. Anthony Ibekwe will officiate. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-8pm at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood with a rosary recited at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday at the church from 10am until the time of service. The family guestbook and condolences are available at schmidtschulta.com.
