Genevieve E. Zabrowski, 87, formerly of Eland, died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Baylor Hospital, McKinney, Texas. She was born November 30, 1925 in Stevens Point, the daughter of the late Jacob and Eva (Bronk) Wierzba. On August 9, 1947, she was united in marriage to Joseph Pupikofer in Chicago. He preceded her in death on November 26, 1985. She was then united in marriage to John Zabrowski on July 1, 1987 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Wittenberg. He preceded her in death on February 17, 2004. Her sister Cecelia Garski, Galloway preceded her in death on May 27, 2009. While in Chicago, Genevieve did office work for Zenith. For 16 years she served as a manager for the Shawano County Senior meal site in Birnamwood. She was a member of Holy Family-St. William Catholic Church, Wittenberg. Genevieve enjoyed gardening, canning and watching ‘soaps’. She also enjoyed playing cards and reading but especially loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her children, Renee (John) Connor, McKinney, TX, Robert (Kathleen) Pupikofer, Medina, IL and Coleen Allcox, Cedar Lake, IN; stepson, Dr. John (Connie) Zabrowski Jr., Glen Carbon, IL; seven grandchildren, Robert Majka, John Connor, Jr., Kevin Connor, William Connor, Christopher Connor, Rebecca (Connor) Sechrist and Sarah (Connor) Stoneking; eight great-grandchildren: Kayleigh, Nehemiah, Nathan, Abigail, Joshua, Preston, Olivea and Micah; step grandchildren, John (Althea) Zabrowski III and Ashley Zabrowski. The funeral service will be held at 10am, Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Holy Family-St. William Catholic Church, Wittenberg. Fr. Patrick Lloyd will officiate. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Galloway. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-7pm and continue on Saturday from 9-9:45am at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg.
