Rena H. McAuly, 91, Township of Hutchins, Shawano County, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at KTCRC-Eastview, Antigo. Rena will be remembered for her great faith, sense of humor and for spending so many nights in prayer for others. She was born October 9, 1921 in the township of Hutchins, the daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Swanson) Johnson. On June 20, 1940, Rena was united in marriage to Thomas McAuly. He preceded her in death on February 3, 2005. Rena was a homemaker and faithful companion to her husband for 64 ½ years. She loved tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Rena was an active member of the Mattoon Church of the Nazarene. Rena is survived by her children, Carole (Harold) Knowles and Ted (Pat) McAuly, both of Mattoon and Melodye (Bill) Jones, Mauston;15 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and 31 great-great grandchildren; sons-in-law, Ralph Robinson and Carl Kitchin and two sisters-in-law, Alice Larson, Antigo and Betty Wolf, Aurora,CO. In addition to her husband and parents, Rena was preceded in death by two daughters, Krystal Kitchin and Marie Robinson; grandson, Craig Knowles and five sisters, Anne Lierman, Agnes Johnson, Eveleen Lane, Verna Nichols and Irene Johnson. The funeral service will be held at 11am, Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Church of the Nazarene, Mattoon. Chaplain Bill Jones and Rev. Mark Quinn will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Mattoon. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm at the church and will continue on Wednesday at 10am until the time of service.
