Daniel "Buzz" Swetalla, 65, Birnamwood, died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born on March 17, 1947, the son of the late Harry and Verla (Peterson) Swetalla.
Buzz worked as a machinist at John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa for many years. Buzz was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, the Green Bay Packers, going on baseball trips and going to the casino. Buzz enjoyed life and was loved by all who knew him.
Survivors include his daughter, Kim (Chris) Heim, Eden Prairie, MN; daugther-in-law, Marie Swetalla, Minneapolis, three grandchildren; Sydney and Andrew Heim and Sarah Swetalla, one sister; Patricia (Elmer) Reissmann, Menasha and two brothers; David (Ella) Swetalla, Washington and Richard (Patricia) Swetalla, Milwaukee. Buzz is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many special friends including; Dee Dorow, Larry and Lori Mueller, Jack Kaufman and Diane Cook.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Swetalla.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012 from 10am until 12 noon at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood, with a reception to follow at Chet & Emils. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established. The family guestbook and condolences are available at schmidtschulta.com.
