Funeral Home: Brainard

Loretta Rose Eiden, 83 of Wausau, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at her home. She was born on January 21, 1929 in the town of Easton, daughter of the late George and Hazel (Mortenson) Mogensen. On July 5, 1955, she married Herbert Matthew Eiden. He preceded her in death on September 27, 1995. Loretta was a homemaker and an entrepreneur along with her husband Herb, “the popcorn man”. She enjoyed history, nature, bird watching, gardening, and needlework. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include five children, Nora Spatz, Wausau, Norman Eiden, Wausau, Julie (Dave Larson) Eiden, Waupaca, Peggy (Kermit) Eiden-Waters, Phoenix, AZ, and Glenn Eiden, Wausau, and ; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Vivian Nelson, Phyliss Ament, Harley (Sylvia) Mogensen, Arlene (Oliver) Hoppe, Charlotte (Jerry) Bown, Janette Wallace, Karen (Ron) Frye; and sister-in-law, Nancy Mogensen. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Rose Marie, brothers, Kenneth, Maynard, and Donald Mogensen, and brothers-in-law, Raymond Ament and Stanley Nelson. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2012 at Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams St. Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Marathon County Historical Society, 410 McIndoe St. Wausau, WI.
