Mae M. Jansen, 93, formerly of Aniwa, died Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Walnut Grove Assisted Living, Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born on May 1, 1919 in Antigo, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Liska) Pizl.
On June 28, 1938, Mae was united in marriage to B. Clarence Jansen in Antigo. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2003.
The couple farmed in the town of Plover, Marathon County for many years. Mae was a lifetime member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Aniwa and the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards with neighbors and spending time with her family.
Survivors include four children; Sharon (Edward) Wilke, Rib Mountain, Carol (John) Arndt, Schofield, Ginny (Arnie) Swanson, Aniwa and Robert (Theresa) Jansen, Birnamwood, eight grandchildren; Julia and David Wilke, Eric and Mark Arndt, Brian and Chad Swanson and Nathan and Kyle Jansen, seven great-grandchildren; Lorenzo, Letizia, Gabriella, Katarina, Daniel, Annisa and Tatum, three great-great-grandchildren; Peyton, Kaleb and Jauslynn and one sister, Genevieve Kakes, Antigo. She is also survived by other relatives.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mae was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Aniwa. Rev. Anthony Ibekwe will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 9am until the time of services at the church. Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood is assisting the family with arrangements.
