George William (Bill) Truman, 64, of Wausau, passed away on Friday,
September 21, 2012, at home. He was born to William Ludell and Elsie
(Blank) Truman on July 2, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up and attended
school in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Bill married the former Diane Knutson on
February 22, 1969, in Antigo, and lived there prior to relocating to Wausau
in 1996. Bill liked to spend his time with his family and especially with
his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, playing
chess, and playing on his computer. Bill was the kind of person that was
able to fix things, and could be found building and working on projects in
his garage. More than anything Bill was a friend, role-model, and counselor
to all who knew him, willing to listen and help anyone in any way he could. Bill is survived by his wife, Diane; children, Angela Truman (Robert Konkel)
of Wausau, Heidi Toth (Dennis Havard) of Wausau, Ronald (Leslie) Truman of
Wausau, and Danielle Truman of St. Croix Falls; grandchildren, Andrew,
Jerry, and Bryan Dolezal, George Truman, Lucas Hohn, Kalsin Toth, Samuel and
Ronald Havard, Alyssa Grande, Kendall, Braelyn, and Gavin Truman, Mia
Sanchez-Truman, and William Vasquez-Truman; brother, Bobbie Truman; sister,
Brenda Truman; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Truman; and
grandson, Jesse Toth.
A funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at
Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau. Family and friends may call
beginning at 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. You may sign the family guestbook at www.helke.com.
