Carole Lynn Stam, 67, of the town of Wausau, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Carole had battled Myasthenia Gravis and Rheumatoid Arthritis over the past 25 years. She was born to Fred and Mae (Jorstad) Borchardt in Wausau on March 24, 1945. She attended St. John Lutheran School and Wausau High School while growing up. Carole married Roelof Stam on October 21, 1977 in Wausau. She lived in the Wausau area all of her life. Carole worked on the farm and as a homemaker. She liked spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Michelle. She loved her cats, dogs, and other animals, and liked cooking, making crafts, and tending to her flowers. She is survived by her husband, Roelof; sons, Michael, Phillip, and Derek (girlfriend, Nikki Woller), all of Wausau; granddaughter, Michelle; brother, Frederick (Sharon) Borchardt of Wausau; sisters, Judy Osborne of Wausau and Karen (Raymond) Wilk of Baraboo, Wis.; father-in-law, Berend Stam; brother-in-law, Archie (Ann) Stam of Oshkosh, Wis.; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Carole was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Donna (Paul) Trelle; mother-in-law, Hilda Stam; and brother-in-law, Harold Osborne. A funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at New Hope Community Church, E1045 South County Road J, town of Easton, with Rev. Dan Eisnor officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow in Forestville Cemetery, town of Easton.
