Austin Matson, 73, Wittenberg, died on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Ministry St. Clare's Hospital, Weston.
He was born on April 14, 1939 in the town of Birnamwood, the son of the late Oscar and Adeline (Kadow) Matson. Austin was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.
Austin worked for Pukall movers for many years and also farmed in the Town of Birnamwood. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. Austin enjoyed hunting, fishing and had a special love of animals.
Survivors include his siblings, Carol Matson, Wittenberg, Jacqueline Pukall, Birnamwood, Donna (James) Kozlovsky, Birnamwood and Allen (Tina) Matson, Hanover, IL and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Austin was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Duwayne and Daniel.
A Memorial service will be held at 11AM on Friday, September 21, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. The Rev. Michael Larson will officiate. Interment will be in Bethany Cemetery, Wittenberg. Visitation will be on Friday from 10AM until the time of service at the church.
