Arlyn M. Bernarde, 73, formerly of Bowler, died Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Care Partners Assisted Living, Stevens Point under the care of Ministry Hospice, Marshfield.
He was born June 16, 1939 in the township of Morris, Shawano County, the son of the late Matthew and Ramona (Richter) Bernarde. On January 17, 1980, Arlyn was united in marriage to Nancy Hildebrand in Las Vegas, NV. She preceded him in death on December 9, 1993.
Arlyn was a self employed construction worker for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed shooting pool, hunting, trout fishing, golfing and cooking. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family at the cabin on Post Lake.
Survivors include his children; Tammie Jo (Brian Derus) Berg, Kristi Roth, Wendy (Shane) Bembenek, Becky Hale, Matthew (Joan Paje) Bernarde and Marc Bernarde, grandchildren, great grandchildren; one sister; Bonita (Ron) Marks and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, Arlyn was preceded in death by a brother; LaWayne Bernarde, a granddaughter; Cheyna Leamae Bernarde and a great grandson; Corey Richard Jensen.
A memorial service will be held at 6PM on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. The Rev. Jonathan Gulbrandsen will officiate. Visitation will be from 4PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
