Funeral Home: Brainard
Ervin L. Schraml, 89, Weston, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2012.
Ervin was born in Antigo, son of James and Rose “Smidth” Schraml. He took over the family farm where he and MaryAnna raised their three children, James, Sharon and Gerald. In 1968 they moved to Weston.
Ervin was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a farmer, logger and heavy equipment operator and security guard. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and gardening, visiting with family and friends, talking about the good old days. When he retired, he became pretty handy in the kitchen baking bread and cookies and he would share those too.
When it came to fixing something, well, nothing ever got thrown away. He said it can always be fixed – you just had to figure out how. He wasted nothing and always made the best use out of what he had. Because of that, he was always willing to help friends, family and extended family. Ervin was a faithful, faith-filled loving, good man and he will be missed.
Ervin is survived by his children: James (Roxann) Schraml, Sharon (Donald) VanOoyen and Gerald (Joni) Schraml; eight grandchildren: Wendy, Mellony,Tonya, Jason, Michael, Willie, Richard and Sarah and eighteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, MaryAnna; his sister, Martha Consalvi, and his granddaughter, Wanda Brissette.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 10, 2012 at St. Agnes Parish, 6101 Zinser Street, Weston. The Rev. Roy Witucki will celebrate. Burial will be at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Antigo. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
