Henry "Champ" G. Vander Heyden, age 69, Tigerton, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Ministry Saint Clare's Hospital, Weston. He was born on November 27, 1942 in Neenah, the son of the late Henry and Dorothy (Grosskopf) Vander Heyden. On July 11, 1975, he was united in marriage to Judith (Jaje) Daebler in Reno. She survives. Champ worked in construction for many years and was a member of the Operating Engineers Union. In 1983, Champ and Judy bought the Rainbow Bar in Tigerton and operated that until 2009. He enjoyed working out in the garage and visiting with friends in the tavern. He is survived by his wife Judy, Tigerton; four sons; three daughters and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Champ was preceded in death by his brother Charles. A Memorial Service will be held at 7pm on Monday, July 30, 2012 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg.
