Violet Louise (Woik) Ebeling, 82, of Wausau, passed away at home under the
care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born to the late
Ernest and Iva (Winter) Woik in the town of Green Grove, Wis. on July 9,
1930. Violet was a graduate of Owen High School. She married Arlyn Ebeling
on June 23, 1951 at the Evangelical and Reformed Church in Curtiss, Wis. Violet was a member of Grace United Church of Christ for over 50 years. The
church was an important part of her life, and she helped as a Willing Worker
and with quilting projects. She enjoyed spending time with Arlyn and her
family at the cottage on Lake Nokomis and on the pontoon boat fishing.
Violet liked watching football and would cheer on her Green Bay Packers.
Arlyn and Violet met at a dance, and they both attended dances together in
Milwaukee and other cities around Wisconsin. Violet also liked to bowl,
play cards, and listen to country music.
Violet is survived by her husband of 61 years, Arlyn; daughter, Sharon
(Terry) Goetsch; son, Ron (Ellen Haebig) Ebeling; grandchildren, Kelly
Goetsch, Melissa Ebeling, and Lauren (Jacob) Seever; great-grandchildren,
Carson, Helena, Gavin, and Athena; brother, Robert (Ellen) Woik; sister,
Olga Hoehn; brother-in-law, Donald Ebeling; sister-in-law, Elsie Woik;
nieces, nephews, best friend, Elsie; and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ralph; and
brother-in-law, Ken Hoehn.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2012, at Grace
United Church of Christ, 535 South Third Ave., Wausau, with Pastor Julie
Goranson officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 9:00 a.m.
until the time of service at the church. Entombment will take place in
Restlawn Memorial Park-Gardens of Eternal Rest Mausoleum, Wausau. You may sign the family guestbook at www.helke.com. The family suggests memorial donations to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice
