Bradley B. Hoffmann, 86, died at home surrounded by his family on July 22, 2012.
He was born June 24, 1926 in Chippewa Falls, WI, the son of William E. and Helen Irene Hoffmann. He moved to Wausau in 1935 and graduated from Wausau Senior High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 – 1946 and in the Army Reserve from 1949 – 1961. He graduated from Ripon College in 1950.
During his business career he was the manager of the Remington Rand Agency, assistant to the president of Viking Inc., owner of Brad’s Sport Shop and a real estate broker from 1968 until his retirement. Bradley’s many civic and volunteer activities include the Chamber of Commerce, Jaycees, Rotary, and Ducks Unlimited. He served in many capacities with the Boy Scouts of America and was a founding member of the Marathon County Humane Society. He was head of the Rib Mountain Ski Patrol from 1954 – 1961 and was the fourth Wausau person to be honored with the National Ski Patrol Designation. He was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Wausau.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Nancy “Bitsy”; his daughter, Courtney Van Lieshout; grandson, Cade; and his son, William (Darcy) and granddaughters; Sarah, Rachel and Olivia. He is survived by his brother Garth William of Cedarburg, WI; and his sister, Patricia Parker of Fountain Hills, AZ; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 406 Grant St., Wausau. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, Never Forgotten Honor Flight or the First Presbyterian Church.
