Rebecca A. Spiegel, 72, Bowler, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 9, 2012 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. She was born on May 1, 1940 in Neenah, the daughter of the late Arthur Spiegel and Dora (Wendler) Spiegel, Wittenberg. On April 19, 1958, Rebecca was united in marriage to John Pingel in Tigerton. He survives. Rebecca was a custodian for the Bowler School District for many years, retiring in 2006. She enjoyed the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her mother, Dora Spiegel and her husband, John Pingel, Rebecca is survived by four children, John Pingel, Jr. and Julie Pingel, both of Bowler, Randy (Kiley) Pingel, Tilleda and Jenny (Jesse) Bierman, Bowler; a daughter-in-law, Heather Hoffmann, Bowler; 21 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one brother Ronald (Holly) Spiegel, Highland, IN; one sister, Sylvia (Bill) Zimdars, Leopolis and many other family and friends. In addition to her father, Rebecca was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Jo and three sons, Ricky, Joseph and William. The Funeral service will be held at 11AM on Friday, July 13, 2012 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. The Rev. Clifford Kessen will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Township of Almon, Shawano County.
