Wayne A. Hartleben, 78, Wittenberg, passed away May 30, 2012 at the Homme Home of Wittenberg under the care of Asera Care Hospice.
He was born on January 10, 1934 in the town of Morris, the son of the late Walter and Lillian (Kunzak) Hartleben.
Wayne was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired as a Staff Sergeant after 20 years of service.
He had a son, Wayne Hartleben, Jr., with his first wife, Irene Reil. Wayne, Jr. passed away on March 10, 1997. Wayne was then united in marriage to Donna Pleau on September 29, 1990 in Townsend. She preceded him in death on July 25, 2007.
After retiring from the service, Wayne was actively involved in flea markets for over 20 years. He was a very kind man and will be missed by many.
Survivors include two brothers, Raymond (Theresa) Hartleben, Antigo and Orville (Ruth) Hartleben, Shawano and one sister, Lorayne Iversen, Bend, Oregon. He is also survived by three step children, four step grandchildren a step great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood. Rev. Karen Zutz-Rendall will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Town of Almon, Shawano County. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1pm until the time of services at the funeral home.
