Lloyd A. Emmel, 76, town of Almon, Shawano County, died on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at his home under the care of LeRoyer Hospice.
He was born on February 14, 1936 in Bowler, the son of the late Reinhardt and Martha (Beyer) Emmel. On June 21, 1958, Lloyd was united in marriage to Theresa Schneider in Bowler. She preceded him in death on October 23, 2010.
Lloyd was a self-employed builder for many years. He enjoyed spending time and creating "Lloydy Land", which was a private retreat on his property with a cabin and many trails. Lloyd enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed giving his grandchildren tractor rides.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Emmel, Appleton and Crystal (Joel) West, Mesa, AZ; three grandchildren, Zackery, Dylan and Brayden West; three sisters-in-law, Carol Kerstner, Verna Emmel, both of Wittenberg and Mary Ann Schneider, Oshkosh; his beloved companion, Cactus and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Robert, two brothers-in-law, John Schneider and Lyle Kerstner and a sister-in-law, Judy Schneider.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30AM on Friday, June 1, 2012 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. The Rev. Debra Weyenberg will officiate.
