Theresa E. Budnick, 92, formerly of the Township of Reid, Marathon County, died Thursday, May 10, 2012 under the care of her family and Asera Care Hospice at Wausau Manor.
She was born November 1, 1919 in Rosholt, the daughter of the late John and Teresa (Stroik) Suchon. On January 18, 1941, she was united in marriage to Joseph Budnick at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. He preceded her in death on August 6, 2007.
Theresa and Joseph farmed in the town of Reid for many years. Theresa also worked at Marathon Battery and retired from Crestline. She made beautiful rugs and enjoyed cooking and making bread. Theresa was a gifted gardener and had beautiful flower and vegetable gardens.
Survivors include six children, Mayme (Bill) Miracle, Mosinee, Roy (Andrea) Budnick, Ringle, Gilbert Budnick, Ambrose (Shari) Budnick, all of Hatley, Milly (Ken) Swatloski, Mosinee and Janet (Tom) Cherek, Hatley; 13 grandchildren, Billy, Tricia, Andy, Steven, Sarah, John, Leah, Kendra, Karla, Kyle, Ryan, Amanda and Katie; 17 great-grandchildren, Sharliegh, Branson, Brenna, Cheyla, Adam, Malorie, Tyler, Matt, Joseph, Jacob, Abigail, Kade, Kamaryn, Kenson, Kaleigh, Kolton, Noah and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Theresa was preceded in death by one grandson Danny, 12 sisters and five brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00PM on Monday, May 14, 2012 at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. Fr. Augustine Bentil will officiate. Interment will be in the Parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 3:00PM until the time of service at the church. Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
