Duane D. Meyer, 65, Weston, died Monday, May 7, 2012 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehab Kennedy Park, Weston.
Duane was born October 15, 1946 in Wausau to Les and Vivian (Sybeldon) Meyer. On June 28, 1993 he married Patti Alexandroni in Wausau. He retired in 2001 as a truck driver for Consolidated Freight after 30 years of truck driving service. Duane served his country honorably in the Army.
Duane enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, visits to the casino, card playing with his “cronies” in Hatley, watching all sports and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Patti; children Jennifer (Scott) Sommer of Rothschild and Paul Meyer of Merrill; sisters Mary Haff of Schofield and Norene (Phil) Graham of Tigerton; and a brother Gary (Donna) Meyer of Ringle; sister-in-law Pam Meyer; grandchildren Josh, Zachary, Lucas, and Emma; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Orville Meyer and a step-daughter, Heidi.
Memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Brainard Funeral Home – Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston. The Rev. Marion Talaga will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Friday.
