Make A Difference Day Rake-A-Thon 2012

Saturday marks the 21st annual "Make A Difference Day" and people across the nation spent the day helping others. In our area, hundreds of volunteers gathered early Saturday morning for Rake-A-Thon 2012 put on by the United Way of Marathon County. Rake-A-Thon 2012 is designed to help the elderly and disabled rake their leaves.

The D.C. Everest Band Boosters are hoping this will be their "Get Out of Jail Free Card." In hopes of getting some extra cash to support their bands, they've put together "Everest-opoly." It's a fundraiser to help raise some extra cash for the D.C. Everest Bands to replace old instruments.
