Black Bear Sighting in Juneau County

Sheriff Brent H. Oleson with the Juneau County Sheriff's Office says on Saturday at about 10 p.m. they received a call from a resident in Germantown Township near Castle Rock Lake who said there was a large black bear feeding on bird seen in their backyard.

Hundreds Gather To Help Kids Against Hunger Event

Every five seconds, a child somewhere in the world dies of starvation. It's a staggering statistic, but one local organization called Kids Against Hunger, is trying to make a difference. About 700 volunteers gathered at Lakeland Union High School in Minocqua Saturday, to work as a team and put together packages for hungry children. Together they made about 104,000 meals.
