KIMBERLY, Wis. (AP) -- A Wisconsin village that misplaced a 26-year-old time capsule has found its contents in an unexpected place.
The Village of Kimberly had buried the time capsule in 1985. However, the capsule had to be dug up in 1997 when the area was remodeled.
Officials wanted to open the capsule last year but no one was sure where -- or even if -- it had been reburied.
An office worker recently discovered the answer. The clerk found an envelope labeled "Remains of 1985 Time Capsule" in an office cabinet.
Inside were a picture of President Ronald Reagan and letters from other local politicians.
Kimberly street commissioner Dave Vander Velden says the items will be added to a new time capsule -- one that will be displayed but not buried.
