Pets Allowed on 400 Block Except During Special Events

The Wausau Common Council has adopted rules allowing pets on downtown's 400 Block, except during special events.

Tuesday night the council voted 3-2 in favor of a resolution that allows pets to accompany their owners as long as they're leashed.

Pets will have to stay home during special events, including the Wednesday night concert series.

Assistance dogs and animals performing in special park events are always allowed.

The new rules are effective immediately.

We enjoyed coming to your concerts. My dogs behave much better than most of the kids that attend the concerts. Its too bad that you have a council that is against dogs. The dogs that I have seen at the 400 block have been leashed and well mannered. Your next vote should then be to ban the children.

Now if we can restrict children from the park and have them stay at home during special events. As with dogs, most shouldn't be brought out in public as their behavior is so bad.
