Non-Profit Sees Increase in Requests for Services, Seeks Volunteers

Aging is inevitable. But the way our elderly population spends their final years can depend on us.

Local non-profit group "Faith in Action" offers an opportunity to anyone who has anywhere from a couple hours a week or to a couple hours a year to make a difference in a person's life.

"Since I've had Faith in Action, I don't have to worry," says Marion Featherman. When i call, I let them know the time of the appointment and day. I don't really have to worry because I know somebody will be here.

The 65-year-old receives transportation services to and from home to doctor's appointments. She suffers from several health problems including Rheumatoid Arthritis, Diabetes and Skin Cancer.

Requests for volunteer drivers have more than tripled in the past year.
