Ballet dancing has been around since the 15th century and it remains dear to most people's heart all over the world.

Practice makes perfect is just one lesson out of many that some kids in North Central Wisconsin are learning as they enjoy an art form that they've known basically their entire life.

When "Black Swan" hit the big screen last year, many saw the hard work that goes into ballet dancing, but some kids in our area already know the true meaning of dedication.

Alyssa Jamison said she has been dancing since she was four years old. "On the weekdays I come to the studio at about 4:30 then I'm done at about 9 and sometimes I teach classes for younger kids which is really different and fun for me." "Then on the weekends I usually get here about 9:30 and we rehearse till 2:30," Jamison said.

About 30 miles North of Stevens Point, Paige Gutowski has a similar story.

Paige Gutowski said, "Mondays I have four classes and I student teach with one and then on Tuesday and Thursdays I just have two."

These girls dream about dancing at night, they wake up with it in the morning, it's a passion that remains with them forever, but it's not only a hobby, it's also a lesson of respect.

Krystle Drees, the owner of Judy Peterson Dance Studio, said, "Ultimately our goal is to create strong, confident individuals. It's not always about their technique or you know being this fabulous dancer."

With a smile on her face Jamison said, "I love it here because it's my second home. All my friends go here as I said before and all of my teachers are really supportive and we just get to dance. I just feel like it's a way to escape and leave all the different stress in my life. I can just come here and do what i love."

Paige also said that she gets enjoyment out of dancing at her performances. She said it's like an adrenaline rush to show her talent to others.

Point Dance Ensemble will present its 12th annual performance this weekend.
