Summer Playground Gets Your Kids Off The Couch
The Merrill Parks Department offers the daytime camp for kids ages 5 to 12. Parents drop their kids off early in the morning, and the staff brings them to the library, various parks, pools, and beaches throughout the day.
The program is offered Monday through Friday, but you can fit Camp Playground into your own schedule.
Recreation Specialist Joy Annis says, "The kids can come and go. Parents can take them to a dentist appointment. They don't have to come during the day. Some only sign up for one month, some are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday."
The kids head to the outdoor pool on Mondays and Fridays and Wednesdays are field trip days.
Summer Playground is $275 for the entire summer or $100 per month.
