Your help is needed to transform downtown Wausau with colorful pastel drawings for the 6th annual sidewalk art festival. This community event is for artists of all ages and levels of ability to participate and for art enthusiasts to observe and enjoy. Last year thousands of spectators viewed over 230 sidewalk drawings on City Square.
ChalkFest will be held Saturday, July 11 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 12 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A reception and award ceremony for the artists will take place after the event at the CVA Gallery.
Cost to participate is $15 for adults 19 and older and $12 for students 18 and younger. Each artist receives a box of 48 pastels and an assigned space. Pre-registration by July 9 is encouraged to reserve a spot.
