Breanna Schneller's best friends and classmates are keeping her memory alive.

She's the D.C. Everest High School senior who was brutally murdered May 2nd in Wausau.

Schneller, 18, was found beaten and stabbed to death in her apartment.

Raul Ponce-Rocha, 22, is in custody and charged with first degree intentional homicide in the case.

One of Breanna's best friends, Sara Tome, wanted to do something really big that would benefit Breanna's family and keep her in their hearts.

"She was one of my best friends. I met her sophomore year when I first moved to Everest. We had classes together and stuff and then went to prom together and the beach," Tome said.

They're selling pink, rubber bracelets for $2 each. They're pink because that was Breanna's favorite color.

And they're inscribed with the words, "Forever in our Hearts, Breanna."

The first day of sales Tuesday brought in $300 for the family to pay for funeral costs and other expenses.

"It's been hard for a lot of people. Especially her close friends and people that were in class with her. It's hard to see her not sitting in the desk next to them," Tome said.

Classmates and teachers have been approaching Tome all the time, asking to donate to the cause.

The bracelets are also available to the public and can be purchased at the high school office, the Sixth Street R-Store and The Tanning Studio in Schofield and Rib Mountain.

The bracelets were made thanks to an $800 donation by Walt's Petroleum Service, where Tome's father works.

"I think people wanna make a difference and wanna help the family," said Tome.
