Wausau residents will have to wait even longer for renovations on the 400 block.

Tuesday night, the City Council tabled a resolution to accept a final design plan for the project.

Renovations would have included a terrace along Third St. and a stage near Jefferson St., plus planters all around.

The project is estimated to cost nearly $1 million, but will be put on hold for now.

City leaders have been debating how to proceed on the project for a decade, and now believe it's the wrong time for major spending.
