With Halloween less than a month away, everyone will be watching how much Americans will spend this year on the second busiest holiday of the year. The National Retail Federation estimates Americans will spend about $5.77 billion this Halloween.

"We've seen a couple of studies that say people are going to increase their spending for Halloween this year i think a big result of that is that it's going to fall on a Friday this year as opposed to last year," says Clint Zoromski, owner of the Halloween Express in Wausau. He tells us so far this season, foot traffic has been steady.

Some shoppers we caught up with in the store like Gina Adamski say because of the state of the economy, they will be shopping differently this year. "Usually I like to do our yard, and every year I get something new, but I don't think I'll be getting anything new for this year. Same with Christmas, just do with what we have," says Adamski.

The National Retail Federation also says the average American will spend about $67 on candy and decorations this Halloween, which is up just $2 from last year.
