Animals Receive Blessings At Local Church

Some local four legged friends are taking part in the weekly tradition of going to church by receiving a special blessing.

The service was held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wausau, where they blessed about 75 of the member's animals that included dogs, cats and even a horse this year.

"I mean God made the animals too and they need it just as much as we do. He might not understand what's going on today but you know, him and God have something too," says Megan Covelli who owns "Rocky" the horse.

Members say it's not only a great time for the whole family to get together, but a responsibility to have their animals blessed each year.
