Students in Marathon County Demonstrate Their Stand for Peace

Elementary students in Marathon County are demonstrating their stand for peace in the community. It's a project called "Pinwheels for Peace." About 200 students at Newman Catholic Schools were able to make their own pinwheels and place them in front of their schools to show how they are learning how to respect others in the community.

"This is a wonderful project because it really allows students to learn about what peace is at a level they are able to understand and that they are able to relate to," says Janet Kloskinski Principal of the Newman Catholic Schools.

The school chose a pinwheel as a symbol to remind those in the neighborhood the importance of being kind to others. This is an annual event for the Newman Catholic Schools for World Peace Day, which was on Sunday this year.
