Newschannel 7's Wendy Neuberger is a former Junior Miss and is now starting a non-profit program in our area, sponsored by the D.C. Everest Noon Optimist Club.
Its theme is the "be your best self program". There are 5 criteria junior girls in high school are judged on: 1) Academics, 2) Physical Fitness, 3) Talent, 4) Interview, 5) Self Expression.
There is no entry fee, and D.C. Everest Noon Optimist Club is offering a $500 scholarship to the top academic winner. Every contestant competes to qualify for a week at the State Program in Milwaukee next November.
Date: Saturday, March 18 at the YWCA in Wausau.
Application deadline: Friday, February 3rd, (for Junior girls in high school only)
