Mother's Day may almost be over but some area moms are still feeling appreciated tonight, hearing songs of gratitude accompanied with a brunch they didn't have to prepare.

Robert Robinson and the Twin Cities Community Gospel Choir were in town to serenade more than a 100 local moms today at the Grand Theater in Wausau.

Jim O’Connell Executive Director for the Performing Arts says, "What better day to have a gospel brunch than Mother's Day, families are going to be together, when people are feeling the spirit of togetherness and we can enhance that spirit by bringing in one of the roof raising gospel groups in the Midwest."

Its been said music has the ability to inspire greatness, and many times the words people sing in a song can touch our hearts in many ways.

Especially songs like those the Twin Cities Community Choir sang in Sunday’s Mother's Day Brunch concert, which sent a message of praise to mother's everywhere.

Steve Watson a tenor in the choir says, "Each one of them has a positive message for all of us but moms are here especially today to hear the massage and I think their going to hear and feel the message."

Robinson says he hopes the songs the choir sings reaches the mother's hearts and shows they are appreciated not just today, but everyday, in any style of music.

"A spiritual gospel, hip hop, the style of the sound it really doesn't matter its the message that were trying to get across to people and that is to hold on no matter how difficult life may feel that its going get greater later," says Robinson.

"Amazing Grace how sweet the sound,” sings Robert.
Sweet like the sound of a mother's voice, which can always bring happiness to their children's lives, or ease their pain.

He continues to serenade, "I once was lost, but now am found. Was blind but now I see."

Later during the interview he says, “The job of a mother and those who stand in place of a mother is ever done"
