The Wausau area has helped raise nearly $20,000 in school supplies and monetary donations for students in need. Organizers with the annual "Stuff the Bus" campaign say it's the most they've ever received.
The program helps give more than 4,000 students a new backpack full of supplies.
During the three day drive in Rib Mountain, people filled the bus with more than 9,000 pens, notebooks, and folders.
The bus full of supplies will be moved to the Wausau Armory next Saturday, when they'll start handing out the supplies.
Organizers say there are still ways you can help.
"At this point in the game were looking for monetary donations, not so much supplies," said organizer Jonnee Bauer of American Family Insurance.
All money collected will go towards next year's supplies. Money can be dropped off at American Family Insurance in Rib Mountain.
