The Wisconsin Valley Fair is just days away, and local 4H Clubs are getting ready to show their animals.
The Smerchek family of Bevent has shown pigs and sheep for years.
They're members of the Peplin Pioneers 4H Club.
They've spent the last year preparing their animals in hopes of winning a blue ribbon.
"It's a lot of fun because when you tame your animals and work with them, they'll work with you at the fair, you get to know them and they all have really unique personalities," says Kairen Smerchek.
They say all of the hard work pays off in the end.
Some of their animals will be sold at the Farm Market Animal Show and Sale.
The fair kicks off Tuesday at Marathon Park.
