It was a warm day filled with rides, baseball, food and familiar faces. Described as a place where the community can reunite with old friends and have a good time, you can clearly see how everyone pitches in to make this event a success.
Many visitors call it the time at the end of the summer where everyone goes to catch up with each other. It's put together by the Local American Legion 469, and all money raised at the event will go to various community groups.
Ken Dirks attended the event with his family and explains why this annual event is so special, "The community is very appreciative of the Legion for all the fine support that they have given the community. I spent a few years involved myself before I retired and moved out. A great bunch of people volunteer here and a lot of things have been accomplished. It's a nice community."
Organizers say the crowd was down about 15 to 20% this year, saying that it could be because of high gas prices.
