MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Complaints over the handling of a murder victim's futile 911 call in Madison has the parents of another person killed in the city raising complaints of their own.

Some say a dispatcher mishandled the 911 call from University of Wisconsin student Brittany Sue Zimmermann when she was killed at her apartment April 2nd. The dispatcher couldn't get a response on the cell phone and no police were dispatched. She was found dead later.

Her slaying remains unsolved, as does the stabbing death of 31-year-old Joel Marino outside his Madison home in January.

Marino's father, Lou Marino, says county and city officials are more interested in fighting with each other and protecting egos than solving crimes.

He and his wife, Debbie, sent an e-mail to state Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen asking him to take over the investigation of their son's murder.

State Department of Justice spokesman Kevin St. John said the agency received the Marinos' request and will consider it.
