MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A University of Wisconsin-Madison student who found his fiancee murdered in their apartment will be let out of his lease.

Wisconsin Management Company owner Russ Endres had declined last week to say whether he would allow Jordan Gonnering to break his lease.

But the company announced Monday morning that it would let Gonnering do so.

Gonnering found his 21-year-old fiancee, Brittany Zimmermann, murdered on April 2.

Madison police are still looking for her killer.

Endres says in a statement that he thought it was inappropriate to discuss the lease until he had spoken with the students' families.

He says that after talking to Gonnering's parents, he decided to release the 22-year-old from the $790-a-month lease.
